At the 25th China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF), experts, scholars, and business leaders shared their insights and had intellectual discussions on electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL).

Jiang Jun, founder and chief marketing officer of Shanghai TCab Technology, highlighted three potential commercial scenarios for eVTOL aircraft: low-altitude tourism, intercity aerial transportation, and urban air mobility.

Wang Yang, vice president and board secretary of Shenzhen SMD UAV, emphasized the commercial prospects of manned flying saucers. He mentioned its intersection with the cultural tourism industry and low-altitude economy, its appeal as a trendy product, and its advanced development stage.

Liu Dongsheng, senior vice president and chief brand officer of PIESAT Information Technology, discussed the global satellite industry's revenue of $386 billion in 2021 and the integration of Earth observation, satellite communication, and enhanced navigation in China. He highlighted the immense application scenarios and market potential of satellite internet in China, along with the favorable policies and initiatives supporting commercial space development.

Lin Tianlin, an assistant professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, shared a concept of using deformable robots for space exploration. He proposed deploying multiple small robots that can collaborate and transform into various forms to overcome challenges. He thought this approach would enable them to construct bridges, assist other robots, and perform different tasks on Mars or the Moon.
